Who I am
I grew up in Colorado where I attended many of our fine colleges including Metro, UNC, and CSU. Lacking direction (and money) I joined the Air Force. I was a Crew Chief on the F-15, F-16, F-22, A-10, and U-2 aircraft. I was stationed in England, Idaho, Korea, Turkey, Alaska and Utah. I learned to fly in Alaska where I was great monkey to have around as I could fly and fix airplanes.
After I retired from the Air Force, I worked as a shop foreman at a part 145 repair station and provided flight instruction at a school in Utah. I eventually opened my own shop and continued to instruct. Finally, I sold my shop and moved back home to Colorado. I flew survey, cargo, part 135, and 121 for SkyWest while I continued to instruct. I was hired by the FAA and worked as an Aviation Safety Inspector for five years. I am currently the Aviation Safety Officer flying the C-130 and G-V aircraft for NCAR. I have my CFI, CFII, and MEI with gold seal and ground instructor certificates. I am also an Airframe and Powerplant technician with a degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
